Fad diets won’t do, when you’re starting a detox, weight loss programs or trying to improve your health. They tend to put more stress on your body and we feel worse off and do more damage than before. Good health is a gift to yourself (not a punishment), so remember to be kind to your body, ditch the crazy diets and sugary detox drinks and seek advice from a professional.

How to Detox:

Step 1:

Consult a Naturopath. Your Naturopath will walk you through the most effective way to detoxify your body based on your initial screening and key findings during your Detox Appointment. As we’re all wonderfully unique, there will never be a one size fits all approach to any diet or health plan, so it’s important to work with your Naturopath so they can tailor an individualised program to suit your body and lifestyle.

At Brisbane Livewell Clinic, your Naturopath will start by conducting some in-house screening. This will help them get a check on your current state of health and if any health issues need to be addressed or considered during your detox. Whether you’re feeling unwell or simply want to take control of your health, initial screening is a great place to start. The screening within the Detox Package consists of:

  • In-House Screening Tools: Using one drop of your blood, your Naturopath will examine your red and white blood cells under a microscope.  The size, shape and ratio of the cells will pick up markers like inflammation, oxidative stress and mineral deficiencies to name a few.  These are the cause of illness and disease.
  • Indican Test: This is a screening tool for the assessment of Dysbiosis in the gastrointestinal tract.  Dysbiosis is an overgrowth of unfavourable bacteria, yeasts and/or parasites which have been associated with many diseases.

Getting a check on these levels mentioned above will assist your Naturopath in planning your program.  These tests will also be conducted at the end of your detox or health program to measure your results.

Step 2:

Work with your Naturopath on whole food eating program.  We use food programs designed by Naturopaths and Health Coaches to take the load off and nourish your body as well as reduce inflammation and improve digestion.  Although the detoxification process can be a little uncomfortable, it doesn’t have to be complicated.  Talk with your Naturopath on what is best for your body.

Professional Nutritional Herbal Support is also available to support and enhance your detoxification processes.  They will also help to regulate digestion, promote clearer skin, eyes and overall good health. Extended and more specialised detox programs are also available for pre-pregnancy or those with chronic or extensive digestive conditions or other illnesses.
